The City of La Quinta has a strong commitment to preserve the area's unique character and to balance development with artistic enhancement. Art has played an important role in the creation of La Quinta's character and image. The Art in Public Places program plays an integral role in the enhancement of the City's social and environmental growth.

The City's commitment to the arts is heralded by its association with the nationally acclaimed La Quinta Arts Festival held annually in March. Presented by the La Quinta Arts Foundation, this fine art festival is ranked #2 in the nation and features the work of over 230 renowned contemporary artists. Staged at the visually stunning La Quinta Civic Center Campus, the event is complimented by live entertainment, food and wine. The Foundation also produces other popular art events in La Quinta, including Art Under the Umbrellas.

La Quinta Library

With one of the top circulations in Riverside County, the La Quinta Library features a colorful children's area, computer rooms, and a large area for best sellers, audio-visual collections and periodicals. Civic Center Campus

Nature lovers can enjoy walking paths accented with public art and a geyser amidst a serene lake. This breathtaking passive park connects La Quinta's City Hall, Senior Center, and Library.

Golfing in La Quinta

The Arnold Palmer Classic Course at SilverRock Resort is just one of a number of public golf courses in La Quinta offering 18 holes of golf in a spectacular setting surrounded by breathtaking views of the majestic Santa Rosa Mountains.

Tennis & Basketball

If you enjoy "hitting the courts," look no further than La Quinta. Public tennis courts are located within Fritz Burns Park, at the corner of Avenida Bermudas and Avenue 52. If you're into shooting some hoops, head to the basketball court at La Quinta Park, located at the corner of Blackhawk Way (formerly Westward Ho) and Adams Street.

In addition, La Quinta Resort is home to world-class tennis. The tennis club is consistently rated in the "Top 20" tennis resorts by Tennis Magazine. Guests can choose from 23 tennis courts, both hard and clay surfaces.

Exercise & Fitness

Fitness enthusiasts can enjoy state-of-the-art cardio and fitness equipment year-round at the La Quinta Community Fitness Center operated by the Desert Recreation District, located at the La Quinta Community Park at 77865 Avenida Montezuma. The center also offers a Wellness System, a first-of-its-kind electronic fitness program in the Coachella Valley, weight training and free weights, areas and equipment promoting core strength and flexibility, as well as individual and personal training. Daily and annual passes are available.
