This month, Kim will talk about planning for a Family Heritage vacation. Do you want to walk in the footsteps of your ancestors? See where they lived and worked? Find their gravestones? Experience the culture of a particular place?
Kim has recently taken a family research trip to Ohio, where her great-grandparents settled after coming to America from Germany in 1907. She has also visited the east coast and Minnesota to visit the areas where all her ancestors settled. Kim will walk you through the steps in planning a family heritage vacation and give you some hints and tips to make the most of your own. Please note, most of the information is for planning a family heritage vacation within the United States, however, the preparation will be the same or similar if you are planning a trip outside of the U.S. when it comes to family history research.
