Murals (Hydra, Bloom, Volta)

With a vibrant and active artistic community, La Quinta is home to some of the most infinitely ’grammable, double-tap-inducing backdrops around, and these walls are stunning stops for locals and tourists alike. Below are some of our favorites!

Hydra – Painted by artist, John Cuevas this mural is located at the intersection of Avenida La Fonda and Main St and is inspired by the constellation Hydra, which is the longest of the 88 modern constellations and is visible in the summer months in the Coachella Valley. This mural is painted realistically to give the illusion that the figures cast shadows.

Bloom – This mural was created by artist Nate Frizzell. The mural, located on Fred Waring Dr. and Adams St., is a form of art called hyperrealism and features a muted display of flowers, birds and the face of a woman who Nate refers to “anyone you want it to be”.

Volta – Created and painted by John Cuevas, this piece combined art, literature and nature to create a mural that spans over 2 large walls on the exterior of the La Quinta Public Library. The mural features the titles of several books along with the image of the human brain.
